Megan Louch- West End Star from Rotherham

Born and raised in South Yorkshire, Megan attended Wickersley School and trained at the Gillian Banks Theatre School in Rotherham. She then went on to study at Laine Theatre Arts, London where she was awarded a full 3 year scholarship.

Whilst in Rotherham Megan became a young ambassador for her achievements in her academic and her vocational studies. She received 7 IDTA awards as well as performing on cruise ships and in Disney with the school. As well as the annual shows at the Civic Theatre plus all the professional cabarets and charitable events the theatre School performs for.

Megan has appeared in TV commercials for the Trafford Centre and Marks and Spencers as well as performing at this year’s FA Cup final. She performed in professional pantomimes whilst at college with Qdos and before graduation appeared in a new musical called ‘Loserville’ at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.

It’s always been Megan’s dream to perform in the West End ,following a premier performance run at the West Yorkshire Playhouse the show is to transfer to the west end and she was extremely excited to announce that she made her West End debut with the new musical Loserville by James Bourne and Elliot Davies.

She has now begun rehearsals for a westend contract of ' Annie ' folloiwng a recent tour of Dirty Dancing

Megan returns to the Gillian Banks Theatre School on a regular basis to pass on her knowledge and experience to the current students and keep up to date with the happenings within the School and bring some of the professionalism and real life work experience she was trained for back to where she was originally trained from being a little girl.
Gillian said ‘ we are so proud of Megan fulfilling her life’s dream and actually making onto the West End , we will follow her and support her closely to see her develop her career even further following this debut appearance , we are sure she will move to other shows once she is established in the West End circuits.

Gillian Banks of the Gillian Banks Theatre School in Rotherham was sent an invitation to the Queen's Garden Party following years of support for local charities. Her invitation in July for Gillian and her husband Martyn was a great surprise and honour from the Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire for services to charities. The Theatre School performs on a regular basis for numerous local charities on small and large scales.

On the evening of 22 January 2011 a successful Burns Night with Chairman Doug Melloy was held at the Magna - Red Hall to celebrate this great Scottsih Tradition - a good night had by all.

Sunday 18th July 2010 - We held our presentation evening at the Maltby Miners Welfare Club, awarding certificates and trophies to students for their recent Dance, Drama and Music exams. Well done.

SQ Presents are now our "in house" agent promoting the Spotlight Theatre Dancers, 2 Chique and the Spotlight Dreams - another example of how the school prepares acts ready for professional work.

The school's students have achieved 100% pass rates for all dance and music / singing exams

The Friends of Gillian Banks - the fund raising arm of the School has achieved Charitable status for 2009 which means fund raising and support for activities will be developed further as the group expands.

.

A new scholarship has been awarded to the School which helps support students develop their talents further by giving financial support to them. The ' Silent Angels ' awards will be presented twice a year by our sponsors Nick and Marie Cragg from Stafforce Recruitment  in memory of their mothers.

Well done to several students for  receiving  trophies for gaining the highest London College of Music singing exams in South Yorkshire.

On Thursday 16th February 2017 we were engaged to perform at the Hilton Metropol Hotel in London for Braun Internatioal for their worldwide conference and awards evening. Professional cabaret followed by live band and singers. Excellent evening's entertainmnet
